What you’ll do:
•Meet with prospective customers, provide them information on mortgage loan rates and terms, and take their applications – you’ll be meeting people from all walks of life, one of the best parts of the job!
•Pre-qualify applicants in person, by telephone, or email / letters as appropriate.
•Work with the team to assist underwriting approval.
•Maintain contact with customers and follow through on mortgage applications in process. Work with customers and the team to gather information necessary to ensure the customer’s success at getting the loan.
•Ensure completeness of paperwork and documentation and reviews for compliance – those T’s need to be crossed and those I’s need to be dotted!
•Keep informed of changes in Bank policies and procedures and in state and federal regulations impacting residential mortgage business.

We want to hear from you if you possess:
•Experience in lending, specifically mortgage banking knowledge as well as governmental regulations pertaining to mortgage loans.
•Sales capabilities with the ability to understand a client’s full range of needs and financial aspirations.
•A business development mindset to recognize and build new business opportunities for yourself and the Bank.
•A friendly and outgoing manner, with the ability to deal persuasively and effectively with prospective and existing customers and with people in the community.
•Strong communication skills – a good conversationalist and a clear, concise writer.
•Good administrative and follow-through skills.
Desirable Qualifications for the Position:
•A Bachelor’s degree.
•Previous mortgage loan origination experience in another bank or a mortgage company.
•Courses and seminars in credit issues and other lending topics.
•Basic computer skills with such things as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and Internet search.
