This is a full-time, 40 hour/week, benefited position.
Required: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Knowledge of GAAP, Funding Accounting and OMB. Must have ability to use accounting to solve problems. Ability to communicate effectively in both writing and speaking to explain and convey information so others will understand. Ability to assist in evaluating fiscal systems - identifying measures and actions needed to improve or correct operations. Ability to handle multiple tasks, stay organized, manage time, and meet multiple deadlines.
Preferred: One to three years of previous accounting experience or Master's Degree in Accounting. Prefer experience with non-profit/governmental accounting. Strong computer knowledge and experience including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, Internet and email; and specifically skilled in use of Microsoft Excel and Abila MIP software preferred.
Basic Function: Under direction of the Finance Manager, the Accountant assists with all Agency financial responsibilities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, audits, insurance, financial reporting and all other related fiscal duties. This position supports fiscal personnel, while performing day-to-day accounting and data transactions and operations of the Fiscal Department. This position supports program directors by assisting them in completion of fiscal and budgeting tasks. Adheres to agency and program Standards of Conduct and values: community-minded, client-focused, and resourceful. Must have the ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of client information and work materials.
